Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you and your child to Second Grade here at Capac Elementary! We can all look forward to many exciting and rewarding experiences as the year progresses.

 

 

Helpful Information:

Snacks: We will have snack at 1:00 pm this year.. Water bottles are allowed.

 

Dress in layers. It may feel cool outside but our classroom is a warm/hot place!

And for recess please send the appropriate dress for going outside when the cool weather does arrive to stay. Hats, gloves, boots and snow pants are needed.

 

Birthdays: Birthdays are very important in our room! Again HEALTHY foods that are easy to serve are strongly encouraged. Carrots and dip, apples and caramel, healthy popcorn are examples. Summer Birthdays are encouraged to have ½ birthday celebrations as well!

School Parties: I will ask each family to donate to one school party. I will send home the information in the weekly newsletter soon.

 

Homework: Regular Homework is send home every MONDAY starting our first full week of school. It will be stapled to a Weekly Newsletter. The homework is due on or before the FRIDAY of that week. Please check over and sign your child’s homework before it is returned. 

 

Newsletter: I send home a weekly newsletter every Monday with the homework stapled to it. I hope you will find it informative.

 

Take Home Folder: Will stay in the backpack. All papers will come home in it.

 

CLASS DOJO: Is a online way for us to communicate! Please download the app, or visit www.classdojo.com to sign up and begin watching videos, see pictures and chcck in on your child's behavior in real time. You may also see messages and send them to me!

 

Dismissal: We take your child’s safety very seriously. Please write or call BEFORE 2 if he/she is to go to a different place after school. School policy is that which sends the child to his or her regular destination without a note from you. I find that a note with your child’s schedule is helpful if your child’s schedule changes daily. Please read the arrival/dismissal plan given in the take home folder at open house for more information.  One other important thing to know is that bus passes will not be given. Please contact the bus garage if you have any questions or concerns regarding this.

 

Second Grade is such an exciting year for your child. You will see so much growth and progress. I am hoping that we can work as a team to help your child have a successful and happy learning experience.
